Commenti

  • To find out more about Brian’s work with the CDC, watch him in our video, All the Gear the CDC’s Disease Detectives Use in the Field: it-tvs.com/tv/video-BPLZOFIwoZs.html

    • Small pox is not erradicated idiots are bringing it back

    • Bring in a pyrotechnic pro (bomb expert) to brake down Hollywood bomb diffuses. Please!

    • @Dinoz Rule i believe it was lol

    • @Vincent M. hey bro......zombies exist....just not hoe you imagine......theres the cordyceps fungus that infects insect etc have a look into that.also look into the jewel wasp aka the parasitic wasp.there are other species of creature who can do this but these are the most well known.just remeber it doesnt take much for an animal virus to evolve and infect something else

    • you are listening to a guy speak about certain things that do not exist.for example the zica virus wwz............how can he try to explain something that is made up and doesnt exist.how can you be an expert on nothing real??????????????thumbs down and a big BS call.i for onee have seen a hazmat suit and had to endure the comforts for 18 hours a day over the course of 2 weeks.3 times a year i do this.and its called a preasurised suit here.im sorry but some of his caims are complete bs.

  • Geez at 12.13, he not only uses an sterile needle, he ISN'T wearing gloves, ISN'T wearing eye protect protection, OR a mask.....or a gown. So if he knows what the heck it is why the heck is EVERYONE IN THE ROOM not wearing protective gear???

  • Has the CDC ever had to deal with a disease outbreak that required a military response? It's nice to think we'd manage good infectious controls but once you start having thousands of infectees I think we'd start screwing up and taking shortcuts.

  • Too bad he didn't do the Swamp Thing series. Man, that was a mess!

  • It's not patient zero it's the index patient It's not cross over its spill over. It's not the hot zone it's the lab Way to ruin all the cool lingo..

  • To be fair, the "blood" in The Thing wasn't actually blood, but the alien organism itself shapeshifted to _look_ like blood.

  • Filmmakers should watch this video before making more 'virus' movies...

  • Cross contamination like wtf

  • The rna looked like rna to me but I don’t know a thing lol it just looked like it

  • Do you know my ex-wife? asking for a friend.

  • He was very knowledgeable, but seemed to lack the understanding of the danger of some of these scenes

  • I like how he keeps saying "That's not how that happens!!!" as if protocol would be the exact same when half the world are zombies lmao

  • "The part in the Thing where the blood screams and jumps out of the dish is pure sci-fi" Thank God we had an expert to clear that up.

  • 4:05 Frankenediting?

  • 3:47 This is the LAST SCENE of the movie.

  • Heroin

  • Contagion permanently traumatized as a child, and I still to this day have mega issues because of that movie!!

  • "I've never used the word event" *I love this guy*

  • I didn't know Kyle Gass was an expert on disease

  • I love love love Contagion. I wish every science movie would follow its design. Ultra real, non-dramatized science. Detail-oriented, as much real life as humanly possible. It's the best of both worlds: fictional drama and real life gravitas.

  • 28 weeks later is not a zombie movie, it is a virus movie. In fact the virus in the movie is called The Rage Virus.

  • If an alien landed here i think they probably would have to disinfect before entering into contact with the alien, because it may have diseases or virus' weve never seen but the same would be said about human diseases and such. Aliens probably have never come into contact with our "common cold" Itd be quite rude not to I think.

  • "Let's take a look at the scene with the monkey" *cuts to black guy* Okay, I'm sure this was accidental, but did none of you think that that maybe this wasn't the best editing choice?

  • The Property Plant and Equipment

  • This video is basically "Here's what Contagion got right, and what everyone got wrong." And with good reason because Contagion is great. I've met a lot of CDC folks and they all consistently say that Contagion got it right, and is entertaining to boot.

  • "We wouldn't use a live person as bait; let alone a child!" Man, you don't get to have any kind of fun at the CDC, huh.

  • I would LOVE to see one of these videos where filmmakers explained their thought and decision process regardig each of these inaccuracies.

  • I think they decontaminated b4 seeing et so that they dont spread their human deseases onto him. I mean every bacteria thats harmless to us might be a problem for his immune system and as hes really weak in this scene potentionally lethal...

  • I love him.

  • Too bad they didn't ask him about the classic opening scene of Dead Alive AKA Braindead: it-tvs.com/tv/video-O_GMXI7Pp6c.html

  • "Smallpox was eradicated in 1980" *ANTIVAX KIDS WOULD LIKE A WORD*

  • we’re all forgetting the real fact check... plague inc.

  • Disease Expert: "smallpox was eradicated in 1980" Anti-vaxxers: "hold my autism"

  • So we need a fast acting virus to kill humanity?

  • resident evil

  • Like this guy

  • This man destroyed Outbreak

  • wouldnt it be possible to turn into a zombie super fast when the virus is already spread throughout your body? you would just need something to activate it like a bite

  • I liked this video the only part I have any kind of complaint about is the jumping around between movies/shows that happens. Otherwise awesome watch

  • what's with the svu intro voice over guy haha

  • sees an alien... " a set of viruses that could wreak havoc on a community.... that would be the coolest thing ever"

  • This job would give me anxiety.

  • 4:53 FOR THE GREATER GOOD I WILL

  • 10/10 acting when he reenacted the guy saying "it's airborne"

  • I need more of him! He has so much knowledge

  • Ugh! I hate wearing the PAPR 😝😝 Before they made them so the ears were out, doing a complete physical assessment was nearly impossible 😂 Couldn’t hear a darn thing lol

  • im such a nerd. this was fun

  • totaly still contained there already was a outbreak

  • No disease will stay eradicated while Anti-Vaxers exist.

    • This is so true, sadly. In my country (Philippines) Polio came back because of lack of vaccinations but in our case it isn’t always out of choice so much as people here are so poor they can’t even afford that and that recently there was a vaccine for dengue that given to children that then died because there was a misconception about use of the vaccine. This caused a lot of paranoia and fear to spread and then wouldn’t ya know it, I get the news that Polio’s back

  • I think there's a big disconnect between the scenes of people going into a room where there is a concern of bringing in outside contagions (E.T., Andromeda Strain, et al.) and where they're not concerned about bringing in things. Being military, we don't decon for going into a chemically-contaminated area, because we don't care about bringing nothing or trace amounts in -- they're already at a much worse state with higher levels of protection than we could hope to challenge. Conversely, they DO decon before going in to assemble space probes and the like, because they don't want foreign contaminants.

  • I was with him until he said theres no alien coverup lol

  • Everything this guy said is a bit sketchy... I don't trust his knowledge or experience. They should have my aunt Karen instead on this show. She told me she had like 30mins of intense internet research that vaccines cause autism. So far, she only lost 3 of her 4 kids. Would trust her with my life.

  • Hollywood loves to give out misleading information on so many things.

  • Can I like...have this guy’s job too??? Lol what major do I need to change to so I can do stuff like this

  • Who else doesn’t trust what this guys telling us? As it would pertain to procedure of an outbreak. And what if they’re decontaminated themselves so they don’t get ET sick. Duh.

  • You can see that this guy doesn't play around, he will eliminate you instantly to safe the wider population lol

  • Kind of sad he didn't review the maze runner lol especially with the fact they have a progressive zombie outbreak with signs/symptoms and the contamination is based on being scratched/bitten

  • Kissing is a great way to get a virus! Mic drops! 😂😂😂

  • Aww I love him!

  • decontamination is for the Alien I think, They don't want him to get infected with some human disease. 10:36
