10 Day trend - How long will the dry and sunny weather last?

Pubblicato il 4 lug 2018
There is no real sign of this spell of dry and sunny weather ending. The big question in the long-range forecast is over the temperatures; will they rise further next week. Alex Deakin talks us through it.

  • Heatwave Explained it-tvs.com/tv/video-lxc9McaRB70.html Metoffice pay attention.

  • Me. Raining: Why do I have to live in London 20 years later for the first time in forever 35 degrees Me: Why..... Tell me Why do I have to live here?

  • What I adore about the summertime is the light early in the morning with light till late at night it's the best ever and sadly we lose that come winter time, and the bees and butterflies that's what I love about the summer,,God's in his heaven and all's right with the world...

  • Nice just leave Northern Ireland out of this weather forecast

  • I bet when the summer holidays start in mid July, the weather will be rainy, cold and cloudy

  • 3:27 lol even Greenland is warm in the heatwave

  • Thank you for you analysis! Great stuff! Keep it up!

  • Well the pool may be the answer! Lol!

  • Memories of 1976.

  • Best summer in years.. fingers crossed it will continue thru school holidays ...

  • Thank you for the up dates.

  • Their is no sound

  • “Hotting up”, is that even English?

  • Hot weather, bbq, football, bring it on....

  • If this heat comes from Spain/Portugla we are looking at temperatures of 35/36c=95/97f

  • Summer please go away

  • Why the dance when just telling the weather?

  • URGHHH when will it end?!?!

  • I can just about bare it during the day but it’s night time where upstairs in the house barely drops 1-2 degrees over night so you end up with the heat from the day in your bedrooms ALL NIGHT, that’s what I hate. If it’s 23-24 I can deal with that but not 30-34!

  • Yes, its a gift indeed. I was the one that actually asked for this weather. Yep.

  • Oh a proper summer, enjoy it now because there wont be another one like this for a while.. we are known to have one every few years same as a white winter.. they historically happen in a cycle..

  • Can't sleep, too sticky 😔

  • Heat? 40 degrees + in the US! Horrible!

  • What would happen if the temperature hypothetically rose to say 50C next week, would we die, and if not, then how would we survive such extreme heat and humidity???

    • We recorded 50C temp at times in our back yard here in Melbourne Australia last summer. I measured the temp with our digital outdoor thermometer (which is portable). In fact it was over 50 several times. I would go outside to check the temp then run back inside. Now listen to this - the temp rose so high the digital thermometer blew and cut out. I guess it overheated! I don't know what temp it reached before it blew. We were ok because we stayed inside with all four split-system refrigerated air conditioners going and dehumidifying the house air. Water dripped constantly into the four containers outside (which we kept emptying). Overnight the water spilled out of some of the smaller containers and was running along the paving when i went outside in the morning. The house remained dry and tolerable and the power bill was very high when we eventually received it. The garden was constantly being watered at night (by hand held hose) and we learned which plants could take the heat, and which could not. Anything not able to take it has been turfed (or died) in readiness for next summer!

    • MrSCOTTtheSCOT oh crap, that's insane, I thought only a few would die, but actually, you are right, lots of "particular" people would die in temperatures of 50C. The stuff about the breathing inflictions, my sister isn't very young (she's 18) but she does have asthma, so that would be worrying if the temperature ever hit 50C. I have no known medical conditions and I am very healthy and have a fantastic immune system. But, I'm not sure if that would ever help in such extreme heat 🤔 thanks anyway for your answer ☺👍

    • Alec Jones lots of particular people would die if you have no access to water, or air conditioning, the homeless, elderly , very young and those with breathing afflictions, asthma, etc would suffer badly. Then animals , farm and pets would die in numbers as water sources dry up, 50' celcius is a hellish temperature, much would be at risk from fires also.

  • Wish people would stop moaning, we've just come out of months of cold, snowy freezing weather let's enjoy our few weeks of glorious British summer ☀☀☀

  • omg, everyone always moans that the weather is crap and its always raining in the Uk. The moment the weather is great for a while, people are moaning again. Never happy, any of you. haha. I'm loving it.

    • It is the extreme ends of the spectrum that are annoying. From August last year to April this year the weather in SE England was cool, damp and very cloudy. It suddenly switched in May, but went too far the other way, hot and bone dry for two and a half months solid now. A happy medium between the extremes would be ideal.

    • The weather is controlled and engineered you muppet.

    • I'm moaning about your English...'I'm loving it', .....such a wretched change to our language, imported from who knows where, possibly McDonalds. Should be I'm enjoying it.

    • It's not great at all, it's ok for a day or so, but for this leangth of time, it's Dangerous, a Heat wave is not a good thing,It makes people sick, kills people, burns people, makes it hell for allergy sufferers, it's a terrable time for people who suffer from Anxiety a panic disorders, it's horrible for the elderly and vulnrable, it's a nightmare for people with Asthma, sunny days are Beautiful and Loveley, with a nice cool breaz, and a temp in the low 20's that's nice and Enjoyable, whne we're talking of High's of 30+ and Lows of 17 for days on end, with high humidity, and hardly any cool breaze, IT'S HELL.

  • Best summer of weather i can remember.. just hope the farmers get a bit of rain some night lol

  • Thunderstorms and volcanic activity likely! Stay safe and have a good weekend🌞

  • I would make the most of it because in the coming years (starting now)things are coolingdown and this will just be a distant memory

    • Nah I've met crazier people :P But yeah you get you, you have 1 long period of hot weather then suddenly BOOM it's cold/cool for a good 20 years, I wouldn't mind that as long as it is not freezing everyones asses off.

    • BadwolfGamer ,how do I know, but when I put everything together it leads to cooling of the earth, which is hard to believe at the moment. But yes I beleive(which means guessing)that the world is going to go cold. Like a lady after you get married!👹 You probably think I'm a nutcase but I think that we are going through a period that modern man (and woman) hasn't encountered before! 👍

    • Are you referencing global cooling?

  • So no beast from the east???

  • The audio levels on this clip are too low.

    • Gennie Rose or whatever device your watching it on has something wrong with its audio I can hear it perfectly and my sounds not even fully up

  • Excellent presentation. I always try to point my friends towards the Met Office forecast. I've lost count of the amount of times people have seen a headline in the papers and ask if the end of the world is coming. Good work Alex, if only more would listen and learn from the MO's experts.

  • Alex Deakin is SO gorgeous

  • Is this all you have, a number of scenarios?

  • To hot need rain ...pronto

  • Near term human extinction due to abrupt, anthopogenic climate collapse is here, real, quantifiable and verifiable. Your opinions don't matter, nor do those of myopic meteorologists.

    • Edward Longshanks I obviously did read what your wrote as I replied too you saying the government is poisoning our sky’s usually means chemtrails. And you know I’m happy to not have kids because then I am actually strive towards my dreams and live my life before I die once I do settle down I’ll make sure my kids don’t come into contact with a pedophile like you

    • Edward Longshanks chemtrails aren’t real it’s water vapour that goes into the engines of the plane then go out the other end when they leave the water vapour cools down and forms what is actually a cloud not very big but a cloud non the less and before you say then why do some planes have the trail and others don’t well it’s very simple in the sky not everywhere is wet just below a cloud it could be completely dry and I’m talking like a mm below the cloud being dry. So some planes will bring out more water vapour than others depending on what the moisture in the path that their flying on

    • Good luck with that. Look up weather modification and look up chemtrails.

    • Edward Longshanks 95

  • Good bring it on its on.Those that moan get lost its summer get over it. Lady in the shop the other day moaning her head of it was way to hot. I told her take your cardie off along with your fleece coat. And you will be a lot cooler. LOL.

    • 1976 was far hotter than this summer. The hot dry spells lasted a lot longer in 1976 than this one, and temperatures were higher for the most part then.

    • People are detached from consequences. Water comes form a tap, what's the problem? Food comes from the supermarket, what's the problem? it all just arrives there for our consumption just like magic, no work required to produce and deliver it at all. As for it being summer, the normal UK summer is not bone dry for months, the UK is not the Medterranean.

  • Oh when will this hot weather end 🙏🏼

    • James Draycott bit arrogant aren't you, or shall we assume you know fourbeepaws?

    • When the horrid weather and climate modifiers decide you've been punished enough for being humans. They seeds for and drown people in rain fall in the 1950's Project Cumulus they can seed for rain but won't.

    • fourbeepaws it’s not hot. Lmao

    • James Draycott can’t wait for the smell of cool rain in the air and the splash of droplets as they hit the ground and no, I won’t be complaining James, in fact I’ll be rejoicing 😉

    • fourbeepaws you will be complaining when it starts to rain

  • As soon as my kids break up for the summer holidays it changes it always does lol

  • Brilliant forecast! Detailed, engaging, well explained and we'll delivered! Ooh and gorgeous weather!! :) x
